PCC guidance on equalities, diversity and human rights

The Association for Police and Crime Commissioners has published guidance on equalities, diversity and human rights, which states that each PCC will subject to the general equalities duty and the Chief Constable to the general and specific equalities duties, contained within the Equalities Act, but that they will also be responsible for ensuring that the Chief Constable complies with them.

As well as the Equalities Act the guidance also covers the Children's Act, Human Rights Act and Mental Health legislation and gives suggestions for how the PCC might comply with them through the use of the community safety grant and their cooperative duties. The document also lists partners that could assist the PCC in these areas and includes some charities.
