Free master classes for BME community organisations

Nottingham Equal, in conjunction with First Enterprise, will be running a series of free training courses for BME community organisations this April.

  • Tuesday 9 April, 9.30am to 12.30pm – Managing people and volunteers: Staff and volunteers are important assets in the delivery of effective services and community empowerment. Find out how you can support them and what systems can help to manage and plan their work.
  • Tuesday 9 April, 1.30pm to 4.30pm – HR policies and practice: Policies help guide an organisation work and support good practice. Find out about the key policies you need in place, why are they important and how are they best implemented.
  • Thursday 11 April, 1.30pm to 4.30pm - Managing finance: Find out what the key financial tools are, how to set and manage a budget, preparing projections and accounts and much more.
  • Wednesday 17 April, 9.30am to 12.30pm - Innovation and creativity: Stuck in a rut? Can’t think of a way around problems you are experiencing? Find out how to break out of your box and think outside it. Learn more about tools for creativity and innovation.
  • Tuesday 23 April, 9.30am to 12.30pm - Structures for social enterprise: Choosing the right legal structure is critical to the success of your social enterprise, as it can determine how you trade and impact on the finance that you can receive. Find out about the different legal structures for social enterprise and identify the structure that is most appropriate for your proposed business and examine models of governance.
  • Thursday 25 April, 9.30am to 12.30pm – Marketing for sustainability and growth: Learn how the correct implementation of various marketing tools and techniques can help with the promotion of your organisation and its work as well as its sustainability and development.
