World Mental Health Day (Inclusion) event - 14 October, Leicester

The Adhar Project will be celebrating World Mental Health day on Monday 14 October with a celebration of World Mental Health Day for BME communities in Leicester.

The event aims to raise awareness of Mental Health issues within the BME communities and to empower service users and carers with relevant knowledge, support and information.

It is occasion also an occasion where service users, carers, providers, policy makers, health professionals and politicians can discuss Mental Health issues together, allowing for people from the community to directly place their concerns and opinions to the people that make the decisions.

This year the theme of the day is “Inclusion”. On the day there will be Mehndi, alternative therapies, guest speakers, entertainment by service users, games, a fashion show (open to all to participate with prizes for the best dressed) and other activities throughout the day.

The event, taking place from 10am to 3.30pm at Belgrave Neighbourhood Centre, is free to attend but places must be reserved in advance. A vegetarian meal and refreshments will be served free of cost. There will also be the opportunity to have a stand/information stalls at a fee of £10.
