A guide for PCCs on commissioning from VCSE providers

CLINKS, which supports voluntary organisations that work with offenders, has published a guide for police and crime commissioners (PCCs) on commissioning from voluntary, community and social enterprise providers.

Entitled Strengthening Community Safety and Reducing Crime, the guide aims to assist PCCs and other local commissioners to create local relationships with VCSE organisations and develop strategies that enable PCCs to take advantage of the experience of the sector in developing and delivering services.

The guide is based on discussions with Safer Future Communities networks (One East Midlands coordinated the networks in Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire), PCC offices, policy officials within the Ministry of Justice, Directors of Public Health, Probation Trusts and Assistant Chief Constables.

CLINKS has also launched its new Partnership Finder, an online directory for VCSE organisations working in criminal justice to promote their services to commissioners and providers.
