Unity Trust Bank offers reduced lending fee to Living Wage accredited employers

To support Living Wage Week, which took place from Sunday 3 to Saturday 9 November, Unity Trust Bank, a specialist bank for the civil society, is offering new and existing customers that are accredited Living Wage employers a 50 percent reduction in lending fees to 0.75 percent*.

The Living Wage enables people to live at a socially acceptable standard that cannot be met on the national minimum wage. The new Living Wage rates will see employers pay their workers (all adults over the age of 18) rates of at least £8.80 an hour in London, and £7.65 outside the capital, significantly above the national minimum wage of £6.31 for workers aged 21 and over.

Customers are able to benefit from this offer providing their main banking relationship is held with Unity or they commit to doing so. Organisations interested in this offer can become accredited Living Wage employers by following a simple application process.

*Unity Trust Bank’s standard lending fee is up to 1.5 percent. Customers who are already Living Wage accredited and have a loan with Unity will not have their fees refunded retrospectively. Organisations that commit to switch their main banking to Unity must do so within six months of their loan application.
This offer is available for a limited time, at present planned to run until June 2014 (though Unity Trust Bank reserves the right to withdraw this at any time). The 0.75 percent rate will also apply to Living Wage customers who come to Unity through the WCVA and SCVO schemes. All other terms and conditions of these schemes remain as is.
