Consultation on society lotteries

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) recently launched a call for evidence to explore the current balance across Society Lotteries, The National Lottery and competing Gambling products in raising funds for good causes and maintaining player protection.

DCMS is seeking views from those that might be affected by proposals, including those that benefit directly or indirectly from funding provided though The National Lottery.

They are therefore encouraging National Lottery existing and previous grant holders to submit a response to the consultation before the deadline of Wednesday 4 March.

The National Lottery generates an income stream for good causes in every part of the UK and they are keen to ensure that any changes do not have negative unintended consequences on overall returns for good causes, or public trust in the National Lottery and the wider Lottery sector. It is important too that through this consultation they are able to illustrate the value of Lottery funding in supporting all aspects of a thriving civil society.
