Consultancy support for East Midlands VCS

The East Midland's committee of the Institute of Consultancy is encouraging its members to support the Big Society and increase their involvement with the VCS. The Institute has approximately 400 members in the East Midlands, alongside over 5,000 Chartered Management Institute (CMI) colleagues, including management professionals and experts in a variety of business and management disciplines. The institute has received expressions of interest from over 50 of these members to join a register of organisations able to offer pro bono consultating, trusteeship and voluntary support to the VCS. Between them, these members are able to offer around 600 hours of consultancy work a month to the sector, with 40% of them having previously worked with the VCS, 21 able to work in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, 17 in Lincolnshire, 15 in Leicestershire and 13 in Northamptonshire. The consultants range of expertise includes business coaching and mentoring, leadership development, procurement, distribution and logistics, business planning and strategy, marketing, budgeting and finance, project management, HR, quality management, fundraising, performance management, employment law, IT, growth and change management, governance, environmental management, organisation development and bid writing. The institute now wants to encourage the regions" VCS to use this expertise to develop and grow.
