Realising Ambition’s first Programme Insight explores innovation

Realising Ambition is a £25m Big Lottery Fund programme supporting a number of organisations to replicate services aimed at preventing youth offending. The programme is managed by a consortium led by Catch22 in partnership with Dartington Social Research Unit, Substance and The Young Foundation.  A series of 12 briefings will share reflections, learning and practical implications on themes including replication, evidence and early intervention.

Realising Ambition has launched the first of its Programme Insights, a series of 12 short briefings sharing key learning from the programme.

Each of the Realising Ambition Programme Insights will share reflections, learning and practical implications on the themes of the programme including replication, evidence and early intervention.

This first issue, entitled The Secret Life of Innovation: Replication, explores the topic of replication, defined as delivering a service into new geographical areas or to new or different audiences. It examines the links between replication and innovation, the reasons for replicating in children’s services and the stages involved.

Realising Ambition’s Programme Insights are designed to support anyone undertaking or commissioning services with a focus on replication and evidence. Future topics include when and why it is important to measure outcomes, the ins and outs of replicating services and how to commission a replication programme.
