New learning opportunities to be developed across region

The Workers' Educational Association (WEA) is seeking to develop new learning opportunities across the East Midlands with the theme of Women into Politics, and are now looking for support in developing this work. The opportunities will focus on raising awareness of ways to affect change locally and nationally, different ways to engage with the political process, and advice on how to get involved for women who would like to stand as local councillors or in other active political roles. Working in partnership with local organisations including Bright Ideas and CEFET, WEA have previously used a model of inviting inspirational women speakers to present at informal workshops and events in previous projects. They are now seeking to develop this model to engage and support women into politics. For further information or to support development of these learning opportunities, including as a guest speaker, contact Andrea Birch at abirch@wea.org.uk or on 07833 437005.
