New online course for transforming learning disability services

A massive open online course (MOOC) run by NHS England has commenced for anyone working to transform care and support for people living with a learning disability, autism or both.

The course covers all aspects of transformation, such as High impact Actions, finance, workforce and housing. Each module has a mixture of video training, some written materials, wider resources and live sessions. The course allows participants to learn online at their own pace, completing the whole course or dipping into individual sessions, whatever suits them.

Participants are able to join an online community to share best practice, ask questions of presenters or peers and take part in discussion groups. They will also receive newsletter updates of the course and any upcoming news.

A certificate of achievement can be gained for all completed modules, to use towards Continuing Professional Development or add to portfolios of accomplishments.

The course is being run in partnership with ADASS, LGA, CQC, Health Education England, Skills for Health, Skills for Care and the Department of Health.

Enrolment is open now. For more information please email england.si-mooc@nhs.net
