Reasonable adjustments for disabled people

The Department of Health wants to makes sure all service providers are aware of their responsibilities to make reasonable adjustments for disabled service users.

Where a provider does not comply with the duty to make reasonable adjustments in the provision of services of a public nature, it will be committing an act of unlawful discrimination. Further guidance is available in chapter 7 of the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s Statutory Code of Practice for Services, Public Functions and Associations.
