Making Every Second Count

Making Every Second Count is a new campaign from NHS Midlands and East, which aims to empower everyone working in health and social care to inform and enable others to make positive changes to their lifestyles.

The objectives of the campaign are to utilise the contacts people have with providers of health and social care to deliver advice on healthy lifestyle behaviours and signpost people to appropriate behaviour change services and to reduce the inequalities of health outcomes associated with life style behaviour.

As part of the campaign, health and social care voluntary and community sector organisations are being encouraging to take part and make sure every contact they have with the public counts.

To support the campaign, NHS Midlands and East has produced a range of training materials and general resources, which can be adapted for VCS organisations, available online at www.midlandsandeast.nhs.uk/OurAmbitions/Everycontactcounts.aspx.
