Healthwatch Communities Involved Programme

NAVCA, the voice of local voluntary and community action, is offering a series of free half-day workshops across the country, including two in the East Midlands, aimed at those who would like to take part in their local Healthwatch but have little or no experience from a health and social care environment.

The workshops will provide participants with an introduction to basic skills they need to succeed within this rewarding role, ensuring they are able to develop their knowledge and understanding within the following areas:

  • Where Healthwatch fits into local health and social care structures
  • Responsibilities and skills for influencing decisions within health and social care
  • Leadership in a voluntary organisation
  • Equalities and health inequalities
  • Public law, the rules of engagement.

The two half day workshops in the East Midlands will take place at Community Lincs, Holbeach on Friday 19 April from 10am and at Northampton NVC on Wednesday 24 April from 12noon.

For further information on the workshops, including how to book, visit www.navca.org.uk/healthwatch-communities-involved-programme. Please note that reasonable travel expenses will be paid and lunch provided.
