Rural Action Derbyshire’s Wheels to Work scheme

Congratulations to our Full member, Rural Action Derbyshire’s Wheels to Work scheme on being successful in its application to Big Lottery’s Reaching Communities Programme and having its grant of almost £480,000 approved.

This will provide revenue funding for the scheme for the next five years to help people get to work or training in rural Derbyshire by providing moped loans or bicycles.

Wheels to Work had already secured £50,000 revenue as well as £50,000 capital funding from Derbyshire County Council for 2013/14 to provide county wide coverage of the scheme.

Derby City Council will also provide Wheels to Work with a grant of £237,000 from the Local Sustainable Transport Fund to help people travelling to work or training in the city until March 2015.
