Call for evidence on general practice services sector

Monitor has issued a call for evidence to determine the extent to which commissioning and provision of general practice services is operating in the best interests of patients.

They want to hear from patients, GPs, commissioners and other providers of primary and secondary care and are particularly interested in receiving evidence on:

  • Patients' ability to access GP services, including their ability to switch practices
  • The ability for new or existing providers of GP services to develop the scope of the NHS services they offer, including in new locations
  • New models of primary care that local health communities are planning or considering and the potential barriers to these being implemented

You can listen to a pod cast by Catherine Davies, Director of Cooperation and Competition at Monitor, introducing the call for evidence and inviting you to submit your views at https://soundcloud.com/monitorregulator/gpservices-callforevidence.

If you would like to share your views, feedback and evidence or have any queries in relation to this work, email gpservices@monitor.gov.uk by Thursday 1 August.
