Public Health Responsibility Deal

The voluntary sector is being encouraged to sign up to the Public Health Responsibility Deal, particularly to the Health at Work pledge and Physical Activity pledge of the Responsibility Deal.

The Health at Work pledge is based around a core commitment to support the workforce to lead healthier lives, with advice for HR, occupational health, around healthier eating, good management of people with mental health issues, support for smoking cessation, promotion of health checks, and a particular focus on younger staff to support them embark on healthy careers and a pledge around treating staff with respect and dignity.

There are five pledges around Physical Activity, including increasing physical activity in the workplace, promoting more active travel and using the local presence of the VCS to get more people more active.
