Health charter for providers supporting people with learning disabilities

People with learning disabilities have worse health and die younger than their non-disabled peers, but much can be done by social care providers, working together with people with learning disabilities, family carers and their health colleagues to improve the situation.

Public Health England and the National Development Team for Inclusion, with support and advice from Voluntary Organisations Disability Group members have launched a new Health Charter for providers.

The Health Charter, endorsed by NCF and Mencap, is designed to support social care providers improve the health and well-being of people with learning disabilities, therefore improving people's quality of life generally.
