Sustainability: The biggest deal in protecting health?

This event, taking place on Friday 25 April from 9.15am to 3.30pm at Nottingham Conference Centre, will explore how climate change is impacting on public health and what we can do to build resilience and change into what we do and how we live.

This free event is aimed at anyone interested in public health, the built environment, transport planning, sustainable food, fuel poverty, housing, using green spaces to promote health and adaptation to meet climate change, including those working in public health, planners, transport planners, elected members interested in health, health and wellbeing board members.

Delegates will gain an introduction to the recently launched Sustainable Development Strategy, which is supported by NHS England, Public Health England and Local Government Association, as well as inspiration from the Incredible Edible project in Todmorden and an opportunity to attend two of the following workshops:

  • The built environment
  • Transport planning
  • Adaptation in the face of climate change
  • Sustainable food sources
  • Fuel poverty and health
  • Extreme weather events.
