NHS England business plan and new chief executive

NHS England has published a refreshed business plan for 2014/15 to 2016/17, which describes what they are doing, both as a direct commissioner and leader, partner and enabler to deliver high quality care for all.

Entitled Putting Patients First: the NHS England business plan for 2014/15 – 2016/17, the plan describes their long term ambitions, medium-term objectives and specific deliverables that they expect to achieve over the next year and how they will deploy the £526million running costs and £935million programme budgets and organise these resources to achieve NHS England’s overall objectives.

The business plan builds on Everyone Counts: Planning for Patients 2014/15 to 2018/19, the planning guidance which was published in December, and reaffirms NHS England’s commitment to improving quality of care, equality and reducing health inequalities and ensuring that patients and the public are continually involved in decisions about their care and the future of the NHS.
