Independent advocacy qualifications

The Carers Federation is offering City & Guild Level 3 Certificate/Diploma in Independent Advocacy and Level 2 Award in Independent Advocacy qualifications.

The courses will take place on the following dates:

  • Level 3 IMHA/Mental Health Legislation – Thursday 8 May, Nottingham
  • Level 3 IMCA/Mental Capacity Legislation – Monday 19 May, Coventry
  • Level 2 Introduction to Independent Advocacy - Friday 23 May, Nottingham
  • Level 3 Core Units – Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 June and Monday 21 July, Derby
  • Level 3 Providing Independent Advocacy to Adults – Tuesday 22 July, Derby
  • Level 3 IMCA/Mental Capacity Legislation – Monday 9 June, Nottingham

The Certificate and Diploma in Independent Advocacy is offered through training courses and fully supportive assessment for IMCAs, IMHAs, advocates working with adults and advocates working with children & young people.

The Certificate costs from £995 plus VAT, the IMCA/IMHA unites from £695 plus VAT and the Diploma units from £445 plus VAT.

The Award in Independent Advocacy is aimed at those starting in an advocacy role, considering advocacy as a career or who may use advocacy as part of their wider role, including support workers, social workers, health & social care professionals and other related professions.

The cost of the course only is £85 plus VAT. The course of both the course and the level 2 award is £225 plus VAT.

The Carers Federation also provides in-house training across to groups at a discount.
