NICE local government briefings

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has developed local government briefings for a range of different public health topics.

The briefings are aimed at local authorities and their partner organisations in the health and voluntary sector, in particular those involved with health and wellbeing boards.

The briefings include:

  • Community engagement to improve health - summarising NICE's recommendations for local authorities and partner organisations on how community engagement approaches can be used to improve the planning and delivery of all services, including those that impact on health; and
  • Improving access to health and social care services for people who do not routinely use them - summarising NICE's recommendations for local authorities and partner organisations on improving access to health and social care services for vulnerable people who do not routinely use them, promoting equitable access for all.
