Homecare Innovation Challenge

The Homecare Innovation Challenge, run last year by the Department of Health via the Guardian Homecare Hub, invited ideas and new approaches from everyone interested in homecare, including VCS organisations.

A Homecare Innovation Challenge Panel was established to help draw up a list of the best ideas received via the Hub and to advise on how best to develop and/or implement them. One of the six priority themes being taken forward from the Challenge is promoting greater use of befriending schemes in local areas.

The panel are keen to engage further and draw on the sector’s knowledge to establish what already exists in this area and partners ideas for how they might increase adoption, making schemes like this more widely available.

If you are aware of any current or future projects on befriending that you can share with the panel or you have an interest in this area and would like to be involved email details to rebecca.lawther@dh.gsi.gov.uk.

The panel would then like to arrange a further conversation with some of the interested parties to identify how best we can take forward this important part of the Challenge.
