Social Action End of Life Support Fund

The Cabinet Office Centre for Social Action and Hospice UK have launched a fund of up to £1million to support existing projects that engage volunteers in social action to enable continued social interaction and to improve the experience for people at end of life and their families.

Run by the national charity for hospice care, Hospice UK, the Social Action End of Life Support Fund will focus on projects that provide compassionate support. Successful applicants will build on existing ways that volunteers improve the experience of people at end of life and their families including by reducing isolation; meeting emotional needs; and maintaining connections with networks in the local community.

The fund, which is accepting applications until 5pm on Friday 7 November, will help projects to grow and widen their reach, building capacity in communities to support people at end of life, with the impact of each thoroughly evaluated.

The fund is open to applications from charitable and NHS hospices, hospitals, care homes, UK registered charities, public bodies, social and community enterprises.
