Free advice on property issues for not-for-profit organisations

The Ethical Property Foundation, a charity which provides free advice on property issues to not-for-profit organisations, is expanding its services to cover the whole of England from January 2012. The independent charity was established in 2005 with the aim of making the best use of property for society and the environment, by providing advice to charities and community groups on property issues. Funded by the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation to expand its services to all the regions in England from January 2012, the service is free at the point of delivery for small charities and other not-for-profits. The charity operates a remote advice service, including via telephone and a website, providing independent and impartial information and support service for charities and other not for profits, offers an appraisal of options for the client, and referrals to an accredited register of property professionals who can offer pro bono and reduced rates. For further information visit www.ethicalproperty.org.uk. The charity is now in the process of developing a network of referral organisations across the regions, including here in the East Midlands, expanding their professional register of individuals. As part of this, they would like to discover what similar help is currently available to not-for-profit organisations in the East Midlands. If you know of any property professionals who work with the sector, for examples surveyors or solicitors, email their details to Ruth.Thompson@ethicalproperty.org.uk.
